For the sixth time in as many years, Montana State University has set an enrollment record for spring semester with 14,102 students enrolled at the university.
That number is 402 more students, or a 2.9 percent increase, than the 2013 spring enrollment of 13,700 students, which had been the previous record for the spring semester.
Robert Marley, MSU's vice president of student success, credited the entire MSU community for helping keep MSU the university of choice for a record number of students.
"We are experiencing an unprecedented demand for our programs at MSU," Marley said. "I believe this is driven in large part by our excellent faculty and staff and the international reputation and accomplishments of our alumni."
While the spring enrollment is less than last fall's enrollment of 15,294 students, also a record, Marley explained that university enrollments typically drop from fall to spring.
"But this record spring enrollment, compared to all previous spring terms, is further evidence of healthy, long-term demand," Marley said.
