BOZEMAN – Montana State University is hosting youth from across the state this week for the annual Montana 4-H Congress July 7-10.
Nearly 400 4-H members, volunteers and staff typically attend the 4-H congress event from 43 Montana counties, said Brett Schomer, 4-H program and events coordinator at MSU.
Youth participate in competitive and social events, educational workshops and a service-learning project for Montana Food Bank Network’s backpack program. More than 60 4-H volunteers and Extension staff help to coordinate activities during the three-day event. Montana 4-H also welcomes regional 4-H delegations and international exchange students to the annual leadership event. Teen 4-H leaders work in committees to plan program details, emcee general assemblies and manage event technology.
