BOZEMAN—Montana State University’s Extended University will host a one-day “Introduction to QuickBooks” course on July 28 at Gallatin Gateway School.

The course is designed for new users of QuickBooks, a popular accounting software package for small businesses. The course is hands-on in the computer lab and will help participants with the basics of QuickBooks, including: creating a company file with preferences; creating customer files and invoices; accounting for cash and electronic payments; creating vendor files and paying bills; and generating reports.

Students will also receive an overview of general accounting terms and principles.

The course utilizes “QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2014.” Students who are using 2015 will also benefit from the course, as the instructor, Deb Niedermeyer, will explain differences between the two packages.

Niedermeyer is a certified public bookkeeper and has been a certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor since 1999.

The course runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a break for lunch (not provided). The course is $119.
