Montana State University Extension in Gallatin County will host a composting workshop Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Broken Ground Permaculture, 1505 Bridger Drive in Bozeman. Kareen Erbe, master composter, will instruct the class.

At the workshop, participants will learn the basics of composting, various composting methods and cold climate tips and tricks. There will be a hands-on demonstration of creating a hot compost pile. Participants will learn what is necessary to create their own compost pile at home.

The workshop is $10. Participants should RSVP by Sept. 7 to the MSU Extension office in Gallatin County at (406) 388-3213 or visit the office at 201 W. Madison, Ste. 300, in Belgrade.
