Individuals are nominated for the award by a member of the Army National Guard or U. S. Army Reserve or their spouse for the nominee’s efforts to support Army National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve members through a wide range of measures. Those measures include flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence, if needed.
Kevin Ripley, a part-time staff member in MSU Web and Digital Communications and a combat engineer with the Montana Army National Guard since 2010, nominated Dolan and Griffith for the award.
Dolan is currently director of MSU Web and Digital Communications at MSU, and Griffith is a Web programmer with the department.
Ripley said he nominated Dolan for his mentoring, patience and understanding of Ripley’s hectic schedule. He said he nominated Griffith for his direct supervision and mentoring.
