MSU Symphony sets Feb. 26 concert featuring 2016 concerto competition winners

The MSU Symphony Orchestra will present a concert 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 in Reynolds Recital Hall, located in Howard Hall. Howard Hall is located across from the MSU Duck Pond.

The three winners of the 2016 Montana State University student concerto competition will perform with the MSU Symphony Orchestra during a concert set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, in Reynolds Recital Hall.

Tobin Stewart, director of orchestras at MSU, will lead the ensemble in works by Suppe, Mozart, Shostakovich and Joseph Curiale.

The concert will feature the 2016 student concerto winners: Cami Kohler, violin; Madeleine Price, viola; and Erin Equall, piano. Kohler and Price will perform the first movement of Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante.” Equall will perform the first and second movements of Shostakovich’s “Piano Concerto No. 2.”

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors and will be available at the door. Space is limited.

Reynolds Recital Hall is located in Howard Hall, across the street from the MSU Duck Pond.
