Catapalooza includes entertainment, activities, a climbing wall, food and give-away items. This year nearly 200 local businesses, organizations, student groups and other MSU-affiliated programs will have booths set up on the mall.
In addition, the C-SPAN bus, a traveling television studio, will be on the mall from mid-morning to early afternoon. C-SPAN staff will host tours of the van and provide demonstrations of its television production capabilities.
At 7 p.m. on Aug. 25, illsauce, a local five-piece reggae and dub band, will give a free concert on the mall.
Thanks to underwriters like First Interstate Bank, Moonlight Basin, and Army National Guard and ROTC, all events are free and open to the public. In the case of inclement weather, the event will move into the Strand Union Building on campus.
Catatapalooza coincides with MSU's fifth annual Move-In Day. University and community volunteers help more than 1,500 freshmen move into the residence halls.
