BOZEMAN -- The public is invited to a free lecture on deep-ocean life Saturday April 8 at the Museum of the Rockies.

The 7 p.m. lecture will be by Chris German, chief scientist for deep submergence at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. The lecture is titled "Oases for Deep-Ocean Life: Hydrothermal Exploration on Earth and Beyond." Hors d'oeuvres will be served at 6:30 p.m. The program is hosted by Montana State University's Earth Sciences Department, Thermal Biology Institute, and the Museum of the Rockies and is part of the Ridge 2000 Distinguished Lecture Program of the National Science Foundation.
