Montana State University College of Nursing professor Clarann Weinert recently received a National Network of Medicine, Pacific Northwest Region Express Outreach Award.

The award is for an ongoing project, Health Enhancement for Rural Elderly. The program is designed to improve the health literacy of rural seniors so that they can make well-informed health care decisions, better manage their own self-care and enhance their overall health and well-being. The project is being conducted in four rural eastern Montana communities.

David Young, a professor in MSU's Extension Service, and Mary Anne Hansen, a professor in MSU's Renne Library, are collaborators on the project.
