Christopher Pinet, Montana State University French professor, will be promoted to "Officier" in the French Order of Academic Palms, by Patrice Servantie, the Deputy Consul General of France for the French Consulate in San Francisco, in a ceremony to be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 22, in the Leigh Lounge of MSU's Student Union Building.

Pinet will receive the honor for his "scholarship, career contributions to French language and culture, and his work as managing editor and editor in chief of the "French Review." The "French Review" is the most widely distributed scholarly journal of French and Francophone studies in the world.
