The Office for Community Involvement is seeking nominations for faculty members and their community partners who have together engaged students in service learning for the President's Award for Excellence in Service Learning. Through service learning courses, students apply their academic skills and knowledge to address the genuine needs of a community organization.

Academic deans, department heads and faculty (tenured, tenure track and adjunct) are encouraged to submit nominations. Individuals are also encouraged to self nominate.

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, Dec. 29, by 5 p.m. Nominations can be delivered or mailed to the MSU Office for Community Involvement, 330 Culbertson Hall, P.O. Box 170545, Bozeman, MT 59717-0545. More information, including the nomination form, can be downloaded at http://www.montana.edu/community/servicelearning.html.

The award is sponsored by LigoCyte Pharmaceuticals Inc., whose support will enable the Office for Community Involvement to recognize a faculty member and their community partner with a dinner, an award and the presentation of a monetary award at the Awards for Excellence Banquet on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
