Derek Porter, co-owner of Derek Porter Studio in Kansas City, Mo., will present "Intersect, Interact, Integrate, Intervene: Spatial Engagement of Light" at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, in 101 Gaines Hall.

The presentation will reference work by Derek Porter Studio in lighting design, public art and product design that represents rich and unique spatial opportunities for which light engages interior environments and architectural form. Diagrams, drawings, analytical renderings and completed project photography will be used.

Porter received a bachelor's degree in fine arts in environmental and product design from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1989 and attended Helix in Italy, an international study program focused on architecture in 1996.
