The Women's Center will host a sack lunch seminar, "Feminism, Backlash, and the Rise of the New Right-Wing in Contemporary Japan," at noon Wednesday, March 23, in SUB 168.

Tomomi Yamaguchi, assistant professor of anthropology, will lead the discussion which will shed light on various issues, including the conflict between academics and activists, as well as the role of the media and the internet in social movements in Japan.

Yamaguchi will also highlight both the similarities and differences between contemporary Japanese and American feminisms.
