ExtendedU to offer class to help people maximize WordPress

BOZEMAN - A new course from Montana State University's Extended University will help users of WordPress, a popular Web site and blogging software, maximize their skills.

The course, "Advanced WordPress," will begin May 9 and is designed for people who have a basic understanding of WordPress but want to enrich their online presence with plug-ins, custom menus and templates and search engine optimization.

WordPress is a free online software platform that allows people to blog and develop customized Web sites. Students should have a basic working knowledge of WordPress; those who have questions about the software, their skill level or the course should contact instructor Jake Cook at cook.jacobm@gmail.com.

The course will be held Monday, May 9, and Wednesday, May 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Extended University's Downtown Education Center, located at 20 E. Olive in Bozeman.

The cost is $85, with a 25 percent discount for members of the Bozeman or Big Sky Chamber of Commerce or Prospera Business Network.
