Courses and Timeline


The NPTT Program includes ten or eleven courses  depending on if you are a Paid Intern or a Student Teacher) that meet the academic and practical implications of the outcome goals listed above. More information is available under the Course Requirements page.

Course Delivery: We deliver courses through the MSU Extended University via Desire2Learn, the chosen learning management system of Montana State University.

What is a Paid Intern?

A paid intern is an NPTT student employed as a teacher for an entire academic year, under contract with a school district as a classroom teacher, teaching with a provisional teaching license.

What is a Student Teacher?

A Student Teacher engages in a traditional university student teaching experience, fulfilling university credit in an unpaid position, mentored by a cooperating teacher. This experience lasts for 14 weeks.
