Dropping A Course
It is the student's responsibility to be cognizant of the courses they have registered for, their progress in those courses, and the drop/withdrawal policies associated with the courses. The dates for dropping a course with no grade and dropping a course with a "W" (withdraw) are dependent on course length. Extended University administrative policies regarding drop dates can found at http://eu.montana.edu/credit/policy.htm.
Drop requests should be submitted to the Extended University Registration Coordinator at 406-994-7027 or via email. When dropping a course please also inform the NPTT program offices at 406-994-5662 or via email.
All drops will be assessed a minimum $50 administrative fee. Refunds are dependent on course length and are calculated according to Burns Technology Center/Extended University policies (http://eu.montana.edu/credit/policy.htm).
Course Drop with No Grade
Drop requests should be submitted to the Extended University Registration Coordinator at 406-994-7027 or firstname.lastname@example.org if the drop is within the "Drop w/ no Grade" period. Refer to the Extended University drop policies for the timetable for unrestricted drops. You must also inform the NPTT Academic & Student Services Advisor via email
Course Drop with "W" on Transcript
Students should contact Extended University Registration Coordinator (email@example.com or 406-994-7027) and inform the NPTT Academic & Student Services Advisor (firstname.lastname@example.org). If the drop is within the "Drop w/ W (withdraw) on Transcript" period, instructor approval is required. Refer to the Extended University drop policies for the drop periods.
Course Drop for Extraordinary Reasons
Students should contact the NPTT Academic & Student Services Advisor via email, and provide a written explanation regarding their request for a Drop for Extraordinary Reasons. Drops for extraordinary reasons are course 13drops requested once the "No Drop or Withdrawal" period begins. Jamie O'Callaghan will present the justification to the NPTT Steering Committee who will determine the validity of the request. Drops for Extraordinary Reasons are only entertained when there are in fact extraordinary reasons. If the Steering Committee believes it appropriate, NPTT will send the Extended University Registration Coordinator a copy of the student's correspondence to initiate the formal Extraordinary Drop paperwork.
