I teach in an American School overseas. Will NPTT work for me?

Yes, NPTT will work for you as long as you meet the standard qualifications for admission.TOP

Do I ever have to travel to Montana or Montana State University to complete the NPTT Program or obtain teacher licensure?

No. All requirements for NPTT Teacher certification or licensure as well as the Master of Education degree are completed wherever you are with no need to come to campus ever.TOP

I am a teacher in a US Regionally Accredited or IB school abroad. Can I use my current teaching position to fulfill the teaching practicum requirements?

Yes! As long as you are teaching at least half-time in your approved endorsement area, you may use your position to fulfill the teaching practicum requirement. Questions about this can be answered by Jamie O’Callaghan. Email her at Jamie.ocallaghan@montana.edu.TOP

Yes, NPTT will work for you as long as you meet the standard qualifications for admission. Inquire about your eligibility to Jamie O'Callaghan at Jamie.ocallaghan@montana.edu.         

What can I teach?

What you can teach depends on your prior degree(s). MSU offers a number of endorsement areas (see our Teachable Subjects page). All NPTT students will need to qualify for one of the endorsement areas offered. For questions about how your degree will potentially fit, please email Jamie.ocallaghan@montana.edu.
