Paid Internship Option

The NPTT practicum—paid internship option—is a supervised teaching experience, and is a required part of the NPTT program.

The program is designed around the expectation that each student obtains a full or part time paid teaching position in their major area of endorsement to complete the practicum requirement. The paid internship option is the preferred route to completing the NPTT practicum.

Paid internships must last an entire academic year in an accredited school. Practicum placements for the paid internship option will be considered in the fall for schools that operate from the fall to the spring, and in early winter for schools that operate summer through fall. Practicum placements must be formalized with NPTT.

Enrollment in EDCI 576 for 1 credit is necessary in August. The course is run through D2L and is open from Fall and Spring semesters.
