MSU Cat Card
The MSU-Bozeman Cat Card System creates "Cat Card" ID cards which provide services and
entitlement privileges for all MSU students, faculty, staff, gym users and affiliated MSU persons.
The Cat Card serves as your Montana State University-Bozeman ID card, bearing your photo name and ID number.
The same undergraduate or graduate card is used during your entire stay as an
undergraduate or graduate student. New undergraduate and graduate students
will be charged a $15.00 fee on their first semester student bill. All others will
be charges at the time of production. MSU undergraduates that continue in the
MSU Graduate program will need to get a new graduate level card. Graduate
students needs a graduate level card to access graduate level research material
in the library. A $15.00 replacement fee will be charged for all lost, stolen or
damaged cards.
Your Cat Card is used to access computer validated records which are automatically
updated each semester, according to your status and/or fees paid. The issued ID
card is encoded with characters on the magnetic stripe. Each time a card is
swiped through a reader the card is identified and quickly initiates the
appropriate transactions. All information stored is updated nightly and at set
times during the day.
