Use Your Cat Card

Students

The Cat Card is your official identification card for Montana State University-Bozeman. The Cat Card is used as your meal card, library card and laundry card. Your Cat Card can also get you in to residence halls afterhours, student activities, the Rec. Sports Fitness Center, computer and math labs, student health services and many more. The locations page lists all the places where you can use your Cat Card.
Cat Cash
By depositing money online, at the Cat Card office or the Residence Life Cashiers Office, your Cat Card can be used as a debit card at various campus vendor locations.
Food Cash
Students who purchase a dining hall meal plan have the option of adding a $100 in Food Cash to their Cat Cards. This Food Cash can only be used for food. When using the Food Cash at various food locations around campus you will receive 10% off of your purchase. After the 5th day of class, the entire remaining balance of your Food Cash can be transferred to your Cat Card for general purchasing. To transfer your Food Cash to your Cat Cash please stop by either the Cat Card Office or the Residence Life Cashiers Office and fill out a transfer form.
Residence Halls
Students living in the residence halls can use their Cat Cards to gain entrance in to the residence halls after hours (10:00pm to 7:00am). Also, the laundry machines in residence halls only use the Cat Card. You must have money deposited on to the Cat Card in order to use the laundry machine. Laundry costs $1.00/wash and $1.00/dryer.
Meal Pass
All dining halls on campus use either the Cat Card or a Hand Scan to gain entrance in to the dining halls. For more information on the dining halls and meal plans please contact the Residence Life Cashiers Office at 994-2942 or visit Unifersity Food Services.
Student Ticket Info
MSU students taking at least 7 credits or more receive one free ticket to all MSU games. All student tickets are paperless. Football game tickets must be downloaded via www.msustudenttickets.com. All other games just need a valid Cat Card to gain entrance to the game. For more information on tickets please visit msubobcats.com or call 406-994-CATS. Students attending the Gallatin College Programs will have to pay an additional fee. Please go to the MSU Student Accounts Office in Montana Hall to pay for this fee.
Champ Change
(for Freshman and Sophomore students only) Take your Cat Card to designated Champ Change events to earn points.

Student Printing Money
As a current student, your Cat Card will have $7.50 per semester already deposited onto your card for printing. The printing money is only good on printers, not photocopies or Copy Cats prints. Once this money is depleted you can deposit money onto your Cat Card to continue printing.

Faculty & Staff

The Cat Card is your official identification card for Montana State University-Bozeman. The Cat Card will give you access to approved buildings after hours, the Rec. Sports Fitness Center (with paid membership) and can also be used as a debit card at various on campus vendor locations. The locations page lists all the places where you can use your Cat Card.
Faculty/Staff Meal Plan
All Faculty and Staff members of Montana State University - Bozeman have the option of buying a meal plan to be used at any of the campus dining halls. Please log in to Manage My ID to purchase your meal plan. (you will need to set up an account on Manage My ID if you haven't already) Once the meal plan has been purchased, your Cat Card can be used to gain access to any of the dining halls. This meal plan will also include $25.00 in staff cash to be used at any of the retail food service locations. Please visit University Food Services website for more information.
