- Charge
- Provide advice and guidance for MSU's University-wide Security Management Team in regard to the operation, maintenance and enhancement of MSU's IT security policies and procedures.
- Develop, and establish regular communications with, a large Constituent Membership from all Campuses and Agencies of MSU.
- Provide the ETAC regular reports on the status of Enterprise-level systems security.
- Recommend to the ETAC pertinent policies, major procedures, significant strategic initiatives, and extensive security enhancements, for its review and endorsement.

- 5. The Security Committee will serve as a resource to ATAC, ETAC, and UTAC providing recommendations and guidance related to information security when appropriate. The Security Committee will have non-voting representation on ATAC and UTAC.
- Meetings
- Steering Committee meets monthly, on the 4th Monday from 1:00-3:00 in the President's Conference Room. Constituent members interact electronically on a regular on-going basis (securitycommittee@listserv.montana.edu, and MyMSU Portal Groups)
