Charge
  1. Develop a comprehensive university retention plan;
  2. Oversee implementation of the plan;
  3. Monitor student retention and academic progress, particularly minority students and other students not presently addressed in our cohort data analysis;
  4. Assess the effectiveness of retention efforts on campus and promote successful strategies;
  5. Study the low sophomore-junior retention rate problem and other emerging issues;
  6. Communicate the activities of SPOC to the entire campus on a regular basis; and
  7. Prepare an annual retention progress report to the president, UPBAC and the president’s executive council (PEC).
