Scholastic Indicators of Entering Freshmen

Four scholastic indicators are used for admission to MSU: ACT score, SAT score, high school GPA, and rank in high school graduating class. The Board of Regents require that students who have graduated from high school within the past three years have an ACT score of at least 22 or an SAT score of at least 1030 or a high school grade point average of 2.50 or be in the top half (50th percentile) of their high school graduating class. The following table gives the averages of these indicators for recent entering freshmen classes. Past SAT scores are recentered to conform to the new scoring system.
