Unlike counts of students, counts of employement at MSU-Bozeman have not been maintained consistently over time. The EEO-6/IPEDS Staff reports, are submitted to the federal government biennially, are our best source of reasonably consistent historical data. The counts included all employees at MSU-Bozeman, not just those paid from state funds. In fact, much of MSU-Bozeman's growth in employment in recent years has been associated with the growth of externally funded research. For the purposes of this report, graduate teaching and research assistants are considered part-time employees. The government first requested these reports in 1975. We are able to provide annual data from 1989 onward.
