AVALANCHE SAFETY

AVALANCHE AWARENESS AND RESCUE WORKSHOP.
Jan. 18 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in Procrastinator Theater of SUB
Lecture and discussion includes how terrain, weather and snowpack contribute to the creation of avalanches and how understanding these characteristics can help assess avalanche danger. Principles of search & rescue and use of avalanche rescue beacons will also be covered. The workshop is free and open to the public. The instructor is Ron Johnson who has over 25 years experience as an avalanche professional

ADVANCED AVALANCHE WORKSHOP.

Cost: $45.00
Course content includes review of basic information, fracture mechanics, physical condition affecting snowpack, continuation of hazard evaluation, in-depth search & rescue procedures.
