The irrigation project is an extension of the non-potable irrigation system to several residential areas of campus including Family Graduate Housing. This project dramatically reduces the amount of potable City Water used for irrigation and materials used in the project should reduce maintenance and repair costs to the distribution system. The project will save about $ 110,000 annually in direct water costs and equates to a water savings of over 24 million gallons or roughly 1% of Hyalite Reservoir. Perhaps more importantly these potable water savings are now available for all current and future City of Bozeman water utility customers.
