AlcoholEdu

Dear Montana State University Parent or Guardian,

Part of MSU's effort to create a safe and healthy campus experience for your student is through a program called AlcoholEdu for College.

AlcoholEdu is an online science-based alcohol prevention program that provides a tailored educational experience focusing on the impact of alcohol on the mind and body, as well as ways to prevent harm and protect friends. Every incoming first-year undergraduate student at MSU is asked to complete AlcoholEdu at the beginning of their first semester. Our goal in offering this program is to help new students gain an appropriate and accurate understanding of alcohol and alcohol abuse. Knowledge gained through AlcoholEdu will assist them in making well-informed decisions, adjust to their new college life at MSU, and learn how best to support each other in choosing safe and healthy behaviors. This program will benefit students regardless of whether they chose to drink or not.

We are making this program available to parents as well- we encourage you to take the course and use this as an opportunity to talk directly with your student about the effects of alcohol. One of the primary benefits of this program is increasing the dialogue around alcohol, and your role as parents or guardians is very important in this process. By participating in this program you will receive the same educational information but you will not have access to your student's responses.

See the parent log-in directions below and we look forward to working together to make your student's academic, personal and social experience healthy, rewarding, and ultimately successful!
