210CR0001529 2/27/10 0555 2/27/10 0555 Welfare check - a woman called and stated that her husband had been drinking and was upset, and was now driving on the interstate toward Billings. She said that she wanted someone to check on his welfare. Interstate 90 The highway patrol was notified. Case closed.
210CR0001527 2/27/10 0255 2/27/10 0255 DUI - during a traffic stop an officer conducted an investigation and determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was also found to be in possession of marijuana. S. 11 Ave. & Koch St. The driver was cited for DUI and driving with a suspended driver's license, and given a warning for possession of dangerous drugs. He was then was transported to the Gallatin County Detention Center. Case closed.

Langford Hall Officers spoke with the roommate and he stated that he didn't remember writing the note and had no intention of harming his roommate. The reporting party did not wish to file any charges. Case closed.

None of the males were interested in filing assault charges. All three were warned for disorderly conduct. Case closed.

210CR0001296 2/19/10 2034 2/19/10 2034 Criminal mischief - Members of a fraternity reported that someone set off fireworks in their dumpster. 1300 block of S. 5th Ave. Officers responded and observed that the fireworks had started a small fire in the dumpster which residents of the fraternity had extinguished with water. Case closed, pending further investigative leads.

210CR0001284 2/19/10 1528 2/19/10 1528 Theft - an MSU employee reported that a male entered an occupied office in the sociology department and took three text books from a bookshelf, placed them in his backpack, and then left. Wilson Hall Officers responded and took a description of the suspect. According to the witness, the suspect is an African American male approximately 5'9" - 5'10" with a slight build. He was wearing a black backpack, skateboarding shoes, and frayed blue jeans. Case active, pending further investigation.

Cobliegh Hall Officers responded and determined that the briefcase was empty, and was the property of MSU. The case was returned to the department of engineering. Case closed.

210CR0001239 2/17/10 1237 2/10/10 2200 Disorderly conduct - a Strand Union Rec Center employee reported that a male handed her a note containing his name, phone number, and a sketch of male genitalia. Strand Union Rec Center Officers contacted the male and issued him a verbal warning for disorderly conduct. Case closed.
210CR0001236 2/17/10 1045 2/17/10 1045 Disorderly conduct - an MSU employee reported that an intoxicated male was drinking beer and making profane comments toward employees in the Strand Union Building. Strand Union Building Officers responded and the male continued to behave in a belligerent manner, directing profane and abusive language toward SUB employees. Officers placed the male under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported him to the Gallatin County Detention Center. Case closed.

210CR0001188 2/15/10 0254 2/15/10 0254 Carrying a concealed weapon – while conducting an investigation, an officer located a set of metal knuckles concealed within the clothing of a suspect.  Roskie Lot The suspect was cited for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.  Case closed.

210CR0001126 2/13/10 0919 2/13/10 0919 Law enforcement assist – a female called the MSU Police Department from Belgrade and reported that she had been involved in a domestic disturbance with her husband. Belgrade MSU dispatch relayed the information to the Gallatin County Dispatch Center.  Case closed.
210CR0001117 2/13/10 0135 2/13/10 0135 911 call – an emergency blue light phone was activated on the east side of the center mall.  A few minutes later another blue light emergency phone was activated near the chemistry building. MSU Mall Officers responded to both locations and found no signs of any emergency.  Case closed.
