Enterprise IT Governance
The purpose of Enterprise Information Technology Governance is to ensure that institutional priorities on all four campuses are driving IT solutions rather than IT solutions driving institutional priorities.
Enterprise IT council members are stewards of the enterprise, promoting the strategic success of Montana State University and each of its unique campuses, as a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Enterprise IT Council members have the decision-making authority to speak for all facets of their campus and implement council decisions.
Each campus has its own IT Governance Council that folds into the enterprise governance structure. Campus IT Governance Councils report to and implement the directives of the Enterprise IT Council, advise campus IT practitioners on institutional needs, prioritize institutional needs for IT implementation, and monitor progress.
The Associate CIO for Enterprise IT Governance and the PMO support the Enterprise IT governance structure and all campus IT Governance Councils.
