I would like to express encouragement to the MSU community during the ongoing military action in Iraq. I look back with pride at how our community responded in the aftermath of 9/11. I expect that our campus community will continue to act with civility and compassion during this difficult time.

We share in the country's concern for all our troops engaged in this action, and their safety is foremost in our hearts and thoughts.

MSU has several students who have reported for active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces during the military action. We recognize the difficulties for these students serving far from their homes and families, and we are proud of their contributions to national service. The university supports the service obligations of our students and staff during this action. We will provide appropriate accommodations to meet their unique needs.

Until further notice, Montana State University will continue to conduct classes and planned events on their regular schedule.
