In September 2000, Interim President Terry Roark appointed and charged the Faculty Workload Task Force. The principal goal for this group was to frame a set of policies that were clear, flexible, and that foster, recognize, and value faculty contributions in teaching, research and creative work, and service/outreach. The task force worked diligently on its assignment during AY00-01 and presented its preliminary recommendations to President Gamble in May 2001. During fall semester 2001, Faculty Council deliberated the proposed document and requested modifications. The document, "Faculty Expectations and Institutional Accountability", has now been finalized and approved by the President.
