Hotmail® and the MSU List Server
The mailing list server at Montana State University is frequently used to deliver important e-mail, including messages that are an integral part of classroom instruction. Unfortunately Hotmail treats messages from the list server as junk e-mail unless otherwise configured.
The one-time setup described here directs Hotmail to place all incoming messages from the MSU list server into Inbox (or another designated folder) instead of treating them as junk e-mail.

Click the Options link which is located in the upper right hand side of the Hotmail window.

Choose Mail from the menu on the left.
Click the Custom Filters link.Step #3

Click the New Filter button.

Click the Advanced Filter link in the upper right-hand corner.

Choose To or Cc Lines from the first drop-down menu.
Choose contains from the second drop-down menu.
Enter listserv.montana.edu in the text box on the right.
Select Inbox, or another existing folder, or New Folder and enter a name.

Make sure your filter looks like this. Incoming messages from the MSU list server will now be placed in the designated folder.
