Submission Guidelines

Paper submissions are due OCTOBER 20, 2008, either postmarked by that date or submitted via email. A $50 registration fee in check or money order is required, though you may contact READ THIS via email for scholarship availability.

General Guidelines: Literature disciples of all ages are invited to submit critical essays, creative nonfiction, original poetry, fiction, drama/screenplays, panel proposals, and any other appropriate art. Two submissions varying in genre/subject are allowed per person. When submitting, include two copies of work. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email (preferably) or USPS by October 27, 2008. Author must be present at the conference to read his/her own paper.
A title page with the following information is requested:
1. Title of work or group of poems
2. Name of author
3. School name or town name
4. Contact information including email and address
5. Word count; and line count if submitting poetry
Each page is also requested to have the following elements:
1. Header indicating page number and last name of author
2. One inch margins
3. Times New Roman size 12 font, double spaced

Papers:
1. Maximum 3,000 words

Poetry:
1. Two poems may count as one submission if grouped, maximum 70 lines total per submission
2. A cover page with introductory notes to contextualize the piece may be included.

Panel Proposals:
1. On a topic of general interest. Specifically, READ THIS would like to invite people to participate in a panel on literature magazines. We will be discussing how to start your own and sharing the READ THIS story. Ideas on how to grow magazines, reach out to the community they are a part of, keep literature an active part of our changing world, and other thoughts will be brainstormed.
2. Depending on the proprosal, READ THIS will be looking to invite the general public of Bozeman to the 75+ minute sessions, so the topic may be of a wide variety and flavor
