Commencement 2008
Main Ceremony
The main ceremony of the 2008 Commencement Exercises for Degree Candidates will begin Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 10:00 AM in the
Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, The exercises are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Graduates -- Please report to the appropriate location in the Brick
Breeden Fieldhouse by 9:15 AM. See Line Up for Main Ceremony for directions.
Staff will be in the areas to assist the candidates. Each candidate will wear a cap and gown. Master candidates will wear their hoods.
The Doctoral candidates will carry their own hoods to the stage where their Major Professor will hood them. It is important that you
stay in contact with this office to receive updated information.
Attention all Ph.D. & Master students:
The deadline for ordering regalia is March 7th, 2008!
Ph.D. Candidates & Major Professors
The Ph.D. candidates and their major professors will assemble and line up in the Athletic Academic Center
(located in the hallway between the west and north lobbies). Each Ph.D. candidate will pick up his/her name card at this time and give the card to the reader during the ceremony.

All Master Candidates
All Master candidates will assemble and line up in the Hall of Fame Room in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. Each candidate will
pick up his/her name card at this time and give the card to the reader during the ceremony.
Cap, Gown and Tassel
For cap and gown information, contact Katie Erickson, Chris Moss, or Mandi Streich at the MSU Bookstore, Inc., in the
Strand Union Building, telephone number (406) 994-2811. The Bachelor degree Treasurer cap and gown is $26.95. These are available now.
Postage for a cap and gown is $10.00. Students who are candidates for graduation "With Honors" may pick up their honors tassel at
the bookstore beginning March 1, 2008. An "HONORS" list will be submitted to the bookstore at that time. The Doctoral and Master cap,
gown and hood may not be rented, they are for purchase only. Doctoral regalia is $77.90 and Masters regalia is $59.94.
PREPAYMENT IS REQUIRED. THE DEADLINE FOR ORDERING HOODS IN DEGREE COLORS IS MARCH 7, 2008; AFTER THIS DATE GENERIC HOODS ARE AVAILABLE.
Graduation Announcements
Graduation announcements will be available starting March 1, 2008, in the MSU Bookstore. The cost is $1.10 each. Please include an additional $5.00 for each ten
announcements ordered through the mail and $1.10 for each ten thereafter. If both gown and announcements are ordered, total postage and
handling is $10.00 (prices subject to change).
Graduation Fair
The MSU Alumni Association will host the annual "Graduation Fair" in conjunction with MSU Career Services, MSU Bookstore and
MSU Registrar's Office. This is the place to find out everything you wanted to know about graduation but did not know where to ask.
It is scheduled for April 1, 2008, in SUB Ballroom A from 10am-2pm. There will be refreshments available and drawings for door prizes.
Accommodations
Please notify the Registrar's Office at 406-994-4161 if you or any of your guests will require accommodations with access
and/or seating at the Commencement Ceremony. You may also consult the Accessibility Map for more information.
Rehearsal for Commencement
On Friday, May 9, 2008, at 4:00 PM there will be a rehearsal with the Candidates in the Worthington Arena in the Brick Breeden
Fieldhouse.
