The Pre-Award Services office subscribes to two searchable databases of
funding opportunities via the internet to help identify a funding agency
for your proposal.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if funding opportunities were delivered to me
automatically via e-mail? Our subscriptions to COS and SPIN offer funding alert services to help you
target the announcements you want to receive.
Several internal funding opportunities are available only to MSU faculty
and/or students. There is also funding available through state of Montana
sources.
Another way to receive funding information is to sign up for electronic
grants newsletters and funding information. Numerous funding sources have grants newsletters and funding information
available electronically. Visit our information available electronically
for funders who provide updates directly to your e-mail.
Topic areas include: arts, education, environment, foundations, humanities,
nursing, sciences, transportation, agriculture, health, etc.
Federal Sources is a list of federal agency web sites that includes program
information, research opportunities, rules and regulations, and application
materials.
Does your project require tax-exempt status? Should the MSU Grants and &
Contracts Office or MSU Foundation administer your project? Go to the Private Sources page for answers to these questions as well as links
to numerous non-federal sources.
The M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust offers summer stipends for high school science teachers to work in MSU labs. The Partners in Science program supports science teachers in labs for 8 weeks during 2 consecutive summers. Teachers receive stipends of $7500 per summer. And PIs receive research help from dedicated, enthusiastic, and mature thinkers. The goal of the program is to immerse high school science teachers in a research environment so that they can better translate and model how science is conducted to their students. It has been a very successful program, and MSU has been involved since 1994. Application deadline is Dec 1 annually. more
