2 female floors, and 3 co-ed floors. Some of the special options available are a male guaranteed
double-as-single floor, a co-ed Business theme floor, a male Architecture theme floor, and a Freshmen
Year Experience floor.
Architecture is a demanding field that requires long hours and a lot of dedication. By choosing to live
on the architecture floor in North Hedges, students will be surrounded by others involved in their field
and will be offered opportunities for career exploration and group study sessions. North Hedges is also
conveniently located across the street from Cheever Hall, home of the Architecture Department.
The Business theme floor is for students interested in pursuing a program of study or career in business.
The floor is designed to provide career exploration and exposure to other majors that allow for a career in
the business field. Residents on the business floor will have access to in-hall English tutoring, study sessions,
and evening presentations by business faculty and local business leaders.
The Freshman Year Experience floor is a co-ed floor open to students enrolled in the University Studies program –
those students who enroll at MSU without declaring a specific major. Students living on this floor must be enrolled
in US 101-US. Resident Advisors will integrate course curriculum into floor activities and programs. This floor
is a great option for students interested in exploring the topics of critical thinking, the value of education, major
and career planning, 21st century issues, interpersonal communication, and college success tips.
North provides extra long twin beds that can be bunked and lofted (loft plans can be obtained from this site),
desks, desk chairs, and vinyl flooring.
All external doors are locked from 10pm-7am; night guest check-in is available.
North Hedges Residence Hall Association (RHA):
North Hedges RHA offers a variety of events to keep students involved and active in the residence halls, on campus,
and in the community. Some of the events that they offer are: Hall-wide BBQs, Halloween trick-or-treating for local
elementary schools, a volunteer clothes drive, Springfest (with South Hedges), a weekly coffee house, and much more.
