2017 Summer Housing

Residence Halls - Summer Housing

Summer Session 2017 is an excellent chance to enjoy the best Bozeman has to offer in the beautiful summer months and a great opportunity to get ahead in classes with a few extra credits! Johnstone Center, Madison, and Gallatin Hall are the residence halls available for on-campus student housing during Summer Session 2017. All are located on-campus and provide quick access to classrooms, dining facilities, and intermural fields.

Madison and Gallatin Halls (part of the Headwaters Complex) are our newest halls on campus and provide suite-style living with the convenience and value of living on-campus. The two, three and four person suites have single or double bedrooms attached to a shared bathroom, kitchenette, and common area. Johnstone Center provides traditional residence hall living with the option of double or single rooms. Johnstone Center provides shared lounges and common areas, a game room, and public hall kitchen. Each bedroom during the summer is furnished with a bed, mattress pad, pillow, desk, chair, as well as dressers and closets. All residence halls have cable and high-speed wireless internet via ResNet.

Room assignments for summer are made by date of application starting in early April (first-come, first-served basis). Payment for housing is due within the first four days of check-in. Summer housing for current on-campus MSU students will be available starting Saturday, May 6, 2017. Summer housing for new students will be available starting on Sunday, May 14, 2017.

MSU is a tobacco-free campus, inclusive of all residence halls, private rooms, and public area spaces.

The Residence Life/University Food Services Office under Miller Dining Commons is open from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday. The office will be closed on weekends and for all state and federal holidays.

Summer Employment Opportunities

Summer Resident Advisor

The Summer Resident Advisor (RA) facilitates and promotes a positive community within the residence halls.  RAs are peer “helpers” and assist in the growth and development of students as well as assisting them in maximizing their college experience. RAs serve as a liaison between the Residence Life and University Food Services administration and students in the residence halls.  Summer RAs have a great deal of administrative responsibilities and deal with an extremely diverse and transitory population. Short-term community development efforts are a focus in the summer due to the nature of the residents. Additionally, summer RAs have the opportunity to work the hall front desk up to 15 paid hours a week and assist with Residence Life Tours.

Applications can be picked up at your front desk or the Residence Life Central Office.
