Setup Guide: Mac OS Updates
Although the Macintosh operating system has not traditionally been a target of virus
inventors, it is, nonetheless, important to keep the operating system updated to keep
your system safe and in working order.
Follow these instructions to set up your computer to automatically download the
updates as they become available.
1. Click the Apple Menu in the top left corner.
2. Choose "System Preferences." Please note that in OS X versions other than 10.3
this may look slightly different.
3. Click "Software Update."
4. Check the "Check for Updates" box.
5. Set the frequency to "Daily."
6. Check 'Download important updates in the background."
