GRAND AND RESERVE CHAMPION MARKET OR BREEDING ANIMAL, GELBVIEH: The Montana Gelbvieh Association is sponsoring cash awards to the 4-H exhibitor who receives Grand ($25) or Reserve ($15) Champion ribbons on their Gelbvieh or Gelbvieh-cross animal. All classes except showmanship are eligible where competing in a minimum group of five. In addition, they will award $10 to any member earning a blue ribbon for their Gelbvieh or Gelbvieh-cross animal.
GRAND CHAMPION BREEDING ANIMAL, GRAND CHAMPION LIVE STEER, GRAND CHAMPION CARCASS SIMMENTAL: The Montana Simmental Association awards $25 to the exhibitor of the Grand Champion breeding female, Grand Champion live steer, and the Grand Champion carcass if the animal is identified as being ½ Simmental or better and sired by a Simmental bull. A picture of the animal and 4-H member must be sent to Marilynn Carr to receive the award.
SIMMENTAL: Any youth predesignating his/her animal as Simmental influence before June 1st will receive a cap on the first day of the Fair.
GRAND CHAMPION STEER, BREEDING FEMALE & TOP STEER OF MERIT (Hereford): The Montana Hereford Association, Pompeys Pillar, MT, awards a Hereford Wind Breaker jacket to the exhibitor of the Grand Champion Steer & Breeding Female of the live show if properly documented as a Hereford and the top Steer of Merit if properly documented as being at least 50% Hereford ancestry.
