Please mark you calendars for our 12th annual summer star party and camp out where astronomy is king of the mountain!

This year we will be returning to "Harley Park". Harley is nestled in Mountains remote and wild Little Belt Mountains, which are part of the Forest Service's Lewis and Clark National Forest.

The site is on the edge of a large open meadow that is surrounded by trees. If you want to experience dark sky observing the way it is meant to be, do not miss this event! In addition to observing, you can spend time checking out the field of telescopes owned by other participants, attending guest lectures, biking, hiking, or just relaxing with your family. There will also be door prizes, an evening "telescope walkabout", goodies to keep you going while observing, and more.

Montana Starwatch is a truly fun event for the whole family. See you there!

STARWATCH RULES

Please see that everyone in your group is familiar with this information!

NO WHITE FLASHLIGHTS! Free red cellophane to cover flashlight lenses will be available at the registration desk. (Red Light preserves your night vision!)
No driving or white lights after dusk. If you plan to come in after dark, please park at the designated area. Disable interior car lights.
No flash photography at night.
Campfires should be out before the end of dusk.
Outdoor and camper lights should be turned off. If interior lights are not red lights, please cover your camper windows.
QUIET TIME UNTIL NOON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. Because many participants will be observing until dawn, it is very important for the area to remain quiet, please be kind with generators and other noises near other campers.
Do not put any trash in the portable rest rooms that you wouldn't flush at home - this includes trash and diapers.
If you bring it in, take it out! It is important that attendees practice LEAVE NO TRACE camping techniques.
Store food securely as there are bears and other animals that live here.
A bucket and shovel are required by the Forest Service for fire control.
