| How to Volunteer | Committees and the work performed within them provide the heart and soul of change and innovation at MSU. Staff Senate has representation on over 20 MSU committees and it is through participation on these committees that classified employees are able to keep up with the pulse of MSU and effect change when necessary. Consider volunteering to represent classified staff by serving on a council, committee, board, or task force. As defined by the MSU Committee web page, a council participates in governance, a committee has an ongoing advisory function, a board has a decision-making
function, and a task force has a specific charge to accomplish in
a specified amount of time.

| Information about Committees | Representatives actively participate in the work of their committee, which is key to providing Staff Senate the information vital to our role in shared governance at MSU and ensuring the views of classified staff are taken into consideration in the decision making process.
