Changes to the URX Prescription Program became effect on July 1, 2010. On November 17, 2010 Staff Senate sent a survey to all classified employees to better under the effect of the recent implementation of the URx prescription program. The confidential survey was done to assess the financial impact of this change on classified employees. 268 of the nearly 1,100 classified employees responded to the survey that they are currently using the MUS prescription benefit plan.
A majority of the respondents noted there was an increased out of pocket cost due to the revised URx prescription program.

Of concern, is that many classified employees are considering discontinuing their prescribed medication due to the increase out of pocket costs.
