Patty McGown , Director of Student Activities, is available to advise students regarding starting a registered Student Organization, getting involved, and programming activities on and off campus.
Cheryl Polacek , Program Coordinator, is located at the front desk as you enter the office. Feel free to seek her assistance as needed - she will help you with registration, and funding, events or point you in the right direction.
Dan Keslin is our Student Activities Accountant. He will assist you with Funding Board money and answer any accounting questions you may have.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We register approximately 180 student organizations every academic year, but it doesn't end there! The Director of Student Activities acts as the advisor to Homecoming, as well as the six committees of ASMSU Campus Entertainment, and is the supervisor of both the Women's Center and the Diversity Awareness Office. Student Activities is directly involved with the Orientation program on campus, and spearheads the creation of a yearly activities calendar, which is distributed to all incoming Freshmen. Our office also deals with cultural education by programming for Martin Luther King Day and Black History Month. These cultural events often happen because of the cooperative efforts of various offices across campus, as well as the community.
