Why is the rec center getting shafted by food service on this project? Not only is the rec center losing most of its games, but it is also losing valuable space for parties and what not. I don't know who drew up the design plans, but obviously they have never came into the rec center when it is at full capacity to see how much room it needs. I am all for change and updating things, but when something as heavily used as the rec center loses all of its seating area only to gain a tiny part back by the addition of 106e, I see that as a problem. I will be voting against this until something is changed to balance out things on the first floor.

A little over 110 dollars per year to make MSU a better place? Of course I will. I am a loyal Bobcat, and will be making donations until the day I die. So when MSU asked me to pay a measly 15 dollars a month while I'm in school to enhance the appearance of campus, even if I won't be around to see it complete, I easily said yes. If no one was ever willing to pay for enhancements, MSU would never change. Any college in the nation would never change. And to think we already pay a lot less than most universities for tuition, I don't see what the big deal with 110 dollars a YEAR is. Think of the future of this campus that you've spent x amount of years at, stop thinking of only how YOU will benefit, and vote YES.

I am a freshman this year, and like most other freshman I will no longer be attending school at MSU when these renovations are finally completed. Even though the black box theatre will be completed by 2006, the number of current students using those facilities will hardly represent the number of current students paying for them. This year's freshman will be required to pay a little over $230 for improvements that we will hardly benefit from, not to mention all the sophomores who will recieve even less of a benefit and still be required to pay over $120. We will also have to deal with the hassles of construction which include crowding, noise, distraction, and a great deal of inconvenience. I support the idea of renovating these areas, however, I believe that the money to fund this project should come from those students that will be able to actually use and fully enjoy the results. Because of this I will be voting no to the student facilities enhancement project, and recommend that everyone else does the same.
