Carina Beck currently oversees the Office of Student Success and the Career, Internship & Student Employment Services Office at Montana State University.  In this capacity she is charged with developing student success initiatives to improve overall retention and completion rates for the institution while at the same time bolstering career development, financial literacy, internship participation and employer relations.  

Beck received her Doctorate in Education from Montana State University and Master’s in Organizational Communication from The University of Montana.  She has taught courses in communication, career development and human resources.  In addition, she enjoys researching student persistence and new member socialization tactics.  

Beck and her husband, Larry, have two sons, a neighbors cat, two voles and several deer (the later two seem to have declared war on gardens --  Beck's other beloved past-time).

Erin has been at MSU since 2004 and joined the Career & Internship Services office in the Spring of 2008.  She has a B.S. in Psychology from Montana State University and her Master's of Education in Student Affairs, also from MSU.  Erin serves as the operations manager for the Center for Student Success. She enjoys gardening and traveling.

Before coming to MSU, Christy had been overseeing first-year experience programs at Eastern Oregon University for the past five years. She graduated with her M.Ed. In Student Development in Higher Education from the University of Maine in 2008, and also has an MA in Psychology from DePaul University in Chicago. Christy is the program manager overseeing SmartyCats tutoring and the First-Year Initiative. She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and cross country skiing in the winter during her spare time.

Katherine serves as the Front Office Program Manager in the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success.  She received a B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Health and Human Development from MSU in 2009.  As an MSU student she worked as an Orientation Leader and Advocat with the Admissions office for 3 years.  After graduation, Katherine served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Minnesota developing service learning projects, youth enrichment activities and writing grants for elementary and high school students.  The following year she trained AmeriCorps VISTA members in Wisconsin serving in elementary and high schools, on family and community involvement in schools.  Katherine returned to MSU in 2012 to work for Financial Aid and joined the Center in 2013.

In 2012, Kayla graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelors of Science degree in Community Health. Kayla is the Program Manager for the Office of Financial Education where she promotes and encourages students to make financial sound decisions while they are attending MSU. Kayla enjoys all of the outdoor activities that Bozeman, MT has to offer; including but not limited to hiking, biking and floating the river.

Lori is the Budget Analyst and Systems Manager for Career & Internship Services, Office of Student Success and Financial Education. She has a B.A. in Communications and Psychology from Purdue University and her Master's of Science in Human Resource Management, also from Purdue.

Katie joined the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success in the summer of 2013 as a Success Advisor. In her current position as a Learning Strategist, Katie works with students to develop academic tools and study strategies for success in the classroom. Katie holds a M.S. in Education, Leadership & Policy, with an emphasis in Student Services from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon and a B. A. in Geology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. In addition to helping university students, Katie enjoys hiking, skiing, snowboarding, playing lacrosse, traveling and being a foodie.

Tonya started working as a Research Analyst for the Office of Student Success in 2012.  She received both her B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from Montana State University and her Ph.D. in Statistics from Colorado School of Mines.  Tonya supports the office with data mining, data analysis, and predictive modeling.

Elin joined the Office of Student Success in fall of 2013. With a degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Wyoming, she made her way north to Bozeman. Most of her professional life has been spent helping travelers enjoy excellent vacations with local company, Off the Beaten Path.  Over the years, her volunteer work has included mentoring elementary-aged students for Thrive’s CAP Program and working with middle and high school students as a member of the Community Mediation Center’s Youth Justice Council.  Elin enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and traveling with her family and friends.

Janet received a B.S. in Psychology from Colorado State University and a M.A. in Education from The University of Colorado. She taught Elementary Education for 14 years in Broomfield, Colorado. In 2003, Janet and her family reconnected with their Montana roots and moved to Bozeman.  In Bozeman, Janet has worked at REI, taught Nordic Ski Clinics and been a K-12 Substitute School Teacher, in addition to working one on one with students as a Success Advisor.

Mindy May proudly boasts she is a true native of Bozeman. She graduated from Montana State University-Bozeman with a degree in Speech Communication and is a life long learner who enjoys the learning process. Her goal after joining the Success Office in the fall of 2013, is to help students find a love for learning by sharing strategies for academic success. If there is "free" time you may find her with family, reading, or enjoying our bounteous local wonders.

Wade joined the Center for Student Success in February of 2013 as a Career Coach and Student Success Advisor, primarily working with students in the Return-to-Learn program.  He has a B.A. In Political Science from Montana State University and a J.D. in Law from Seattle University School of Law.  After graduating from law school Wade went to work in the investment management business, including 13 years as the founder and president of a firm catering to wealthy investors and institutions.  In 2006 and 2007 Wade took a break from the investment management business and taught graduate investment management and monetary policy courses at City University of Seattle.   In 2008 Wade returned to the investment management business until he joined the Center for Student Success.  He enjoys playing tennis, golf and spoiling his dog.

Prior to working as an Adjunct Professor for Gallatin College at MSU & working in The Office of Financial Education, Keith owned & operated his own business for 15 Years. Keith's goal is to help Montana State students in any way possible, starting with financial education.

Nancy received a B.S. from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington. Her degree was in P.E. with a Pre-Physical / Therapy Option. She spent time, post college, in the grocery business. Nancy then spent 18 years in the flooring business starting out as a sales person. From there she became a Territory Manager for a distributor based out of Spokane, Washington and eventually became a manger of a local flooring store. Nancy learned many aspects of how to sell, how to run a business in a profitable manner, how to deal with people, and what employers look for in prospective employees.

Dylan graduated with a BA in History from Montana State University Billings in May of 2013, his final semester of school was spent as the student lobbyist for ASMSUB at the 2013 Montana State Legislature. Upon graduation, Dylan was accepted as an Americorps Vista member for the Montana Campus Compact program. In this role, Dylan will be serving in the Office of Student Success helping to build the capacity of the Return to Learn program.

Taylor L. Moeller joined MSU's Office of Student Success in July 2013 as an AmeriCorps VISTA Member serving with Montana Campus Compact. She hails from Bradenton, FL and graduated in 2012 from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Political Science. This past year Taylor was a Corps Member with City Year, an education-based non-profit, in Orlando. She is stoked to be supporting the SmartyCats tutoring program at MSU. Taylor enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on and running in the great outdoors.
