How to Use Your Student Email
Step One: How to Get Your NetID
Go to www.montana.edu, click on Students at the top left of the screen.
Select the MyInfo option from the secondary menu bar.
Choose "Enter Secure Area" and enter your information.
From there choose the second option, "Personal Information" then click "View ID's" on the following page. You should see a page similar to this.
Try to memorize your NetID, you will need it for other campus technology services.
Step Two: How to Set Your Email Password
Go back to www.montana.edu, click on Students at the top left of the screen. Then, select the Assistance option from the secondary menu bar.
Select the My Profile Password Reset option.
In the box entitled Sign In to My Profile, enter your information.
Tip: If you are a new student you should already know your login information for MyInfo. You used this to register for classes at orientation.
On the next screen, check the box for NetID and enter your new password. Then click submit.
Step Three: How to Log In to Student Email
Go back to www.montana.edu, click on Students at the top left of the screen. Then, select the envelope icon from the secondary menu bar.
Enter your NetID and password.
Step Four: How to Forward Your Student Email to Another Account
After loggin in to your Student Email, click on the black gear on the upper right hand corner of the screen. In the drop-down menu, click Settings.
After that, click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP option at th e top of the page:
Choose "Forward a copy of incoming mail to" and type in the email address you would like to have it fowarded to. Also, it is recommended to keep a copy in the MSU inbox.
No other setting changes are required, but you may change any that you wish. After you have done so, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes".
