RESIDENCE HALLS & SUITES
North Hedges Suite #2 and Roskie Hall are the residence halls available for on-campus student housing during Summer Session 2008.
Residence Halls will open on Sunday, May 18, at 9:00 a.m.
- North Hedges Suites
The North Hedges Suites were constructed in 1997 to provide apartment-style living with the modern advantages of home. The two-, three- and four-person suites have private bedrooms which are furnished with single beds, a mattress pad, pillow, closet, dresser, trash can, desk, and chair. Each suite offers cable television, phone (local service), a bathroom, and study area. This living option will be available only to students with prior Montana State University Residence Hall experience.
- Roskie Hall
Roskie’s unique design helps build an upbeat, active community. Roskie rooms will be offered as single occupancy, furnished with two extra long twin beds (extra bed may be removed upon request), a mattress pad, pillow, closet, phone (local service), cable television, trash can, desk, and chair. Residents of Roskie also have access to laundry facilities located on every floor, and a kitchen, game pod, and big screen TV located on the main floor.
High Speed Internet connections are supplied for each student by ResNet, the Housing internet service provider. Lightning fast connections allow residents to gain access to campus resources and the internet with ease. Both wired (in student rooms and computer labs) and wireless (in Miller Dining Hall and common areas) connections make finding a place to do research, write a paper, or email a friend easy and convenient.
North Hedges Suite #2 and Roskie Hall are centrally located on campus providing convenient access to Miller Dining Hall, Hosaeus Student Recreation Center, and the Intramural Fields.
University linens (sheets and pillow case) can be checked out at the front desk upon arrival. A weekly linen exchange for University furnished linens is provided for all students at no additional charge. Residents will be assigned rooms on a first-come, first-served basis by Residence Life staff. All suites and buildings are non-smoking, inclusive of private rooms and public area space.

FAMILY & GRADUATE HOUSING
Family & Graduate Housing consists of 704 apartments located in nine apartment communities (Paisley Court, Branegan Court, East and West Julia Martin, Mclntosh Court, Grant-Chamberlain Drive, Westside Houses, Peter Koch and Nelson Story Towers). All units are within walking distance to campus facilities.
The Family & Graduate Housing Office (FGHO) sponsors events for children, non-student spouses, students, and the entire family. Enjoy barbeques and concerts each month beginning in June, as well as a week’s worth of “welcoming” activities at the beginning of the school year. Child care is available through the ASMSU Daycare Center (located near Family & Graduate Housing) during Summer Session and Fall and Spring semesters. Children’s playgrounds are conveniently placed near each apartment community. A computer lab is located on site. A bimonthly newsletter is distributed to apprise tenants of upcoming Family & Graduate Housing events and pertinent seasonal information.
Eligibility
FGHO welcomes applications for both “summer only” and “year-round” qualified students. A student may reside in Family & Graduate Housing with individuals whom the student has or shares a legal responsibility. Examples of such relationships include, but are not limited to: married students, students with dependent children, students with dependent parent(s), and students with disabilities who require a live-in personal care attendant.
Single graduate students, second-degree undergraduates, and undergraduates who have earned more than sixty (60) credits, may choose to reside in one-bedroom apartments located in Peter Koch and Nelson Story Towers. They may also choose to reside either alone or with a same-gender student roommate in Grant Chamberlain Drive.
With the exception of a single occupancy (Nelson Story or Peter Koch Towers) or a Grant Chamberlain roommate configuration, a student who otherwise qualifies to reside in Family & Graduate Housing may reside with no more than one individual who is not legally dependent upon member(s) of the apartment unit (an associate). The associate must be included on the initial housing application. Single undergraduates are not eligible to have an associate reside with them.
At time of occupancy, student applicants must provide documentation of their legal relationship to those persons residing with the student. Such documentation could include: a marriage license, children's birth certificate(s), custody decree and/or letter of guardianship, or other documentation sufficient to establish a legal responsibility. Second-degree undergraduate students must provide a copy of their degree from an accredited four-year institution. Individuals who are not accompanied by their legal dependent and are not a graduate, second-degree undergraduate or upper classman student may be accommodated in the residence halls.
Credit Requirements
In order to remain eligible for Family & Graduate Housing, undergraduate students must be registered for a minimum of nine credits; graduate students must be registered for a minimum of five credits. Any change in student status must be immediately reported to FGHO.

All housing assignments and preferences are subject to availability. Please send application well before the desired date of occupancy. Units are assigned by date of application.
