Campus Directory Updates Needed

It is that time of year again for campus directory updates! The campus directory is published annually and distributed at the beginning of October.

Please take a moment to review your department’s listings online at http://gemini.msu.montana.edu/msuinfo/dplist.html. Print and make any necessary changes and either fax to extension 1955 or mail to ITC – Telephone Services, RN 58.

Updates for the directory can be given throughout the year so we are provided with the most up-to-date information for University callers.

If you have any questions, please call Chris at extension 1010.

Repair Call Procedures

With the Summer just around the corner, we would like to remind everyone the proper procedure for repair calls.

Please call extension 2813 for all repair issues on telephones. We ask that you do not bring the phone or part of the phone to our office (including line or handset cord), as the phone needs to be left at its location, so we can handle it in a timely manner.

Vicky, our telephone technician, gives repairs calls priority and these are handled usually within the same day as being reported.

If you need to check the status of a repair, please call extension 2813 or the Campus Operator at extension 0.

If you have computer problems, please call the Computer Helpdesk at extension 1777.

Fiscal Year-End Ordering

This is just a reminder that Fiscal Year ends June 30, 2005. If there are any special accessories you wish to order before the end of the year, please do so no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2005. This includes any Telephone & Network Service Requests that ask for new equipment to be ordered.

For any moves, adds, or changes that you wish to have completed within this Fiscal Year, please send them into ITC – Telephone Services no later than 5:00 pm on Monday, June 20, 2005. If they are received after this date, we cannot guarantee they will be billed within the current Fiscal Year. The last billing for any moves, adds, and changes will be completed on June 30, 2005.

On requests for any moves, adds, or changes, please state whether the work is to be completed within the current Fiscal Year or next Fiscal Year. This will ensure that it is billed in the proper year.

If you have any questions regarding the Fiscal Year billing, please contact Chris Bauer at extension 1010 or email her at cbauer@montana.edu.

Index Number Changes

With the end of the fiscal year coming soon, please inform us of any changes to index numbers for your line or voicemail charges.

Charges for June will be included in FY 05, so if have index numbers that are changing, please let Chris know by emailing her at cbauer@montana.edu with the phone number(s) that will be affected, what the current index number is, and what it needs to be changed to.

Also, if there are index numbers changing for FY 06, please let Chris know, so July’s billing can be changed. If any questions, please call Chris at extension 1010.

Feature: Speaker Phones

ITC – Telephone Services has many speaker phones available to borrow. With many departments performing telephone interviews, these are great phones to use, as it allows an entire search committee to easily listen to the interview.

All of our speaker phones we loan out are analog phones, so verify you have an analog jack or borrow one of our analog adaptors with the speaker phone. If you are not sure if a jack is analog or digital, please call Chris at extension 1010.

Please call the Campus Operator at extension 0 to reserve your speaker phone today!

Jack Numbers Requested

ITC – Telephone Services requests that when you are completing a Telephone & Network Service Request to be sure to include the jack number you wish to have a phone or data activated. With many rooms having more than one jack in the room, this ensures that we activate your equipment at the proper location.

We also ask that when activating a new phone line to include the Class of Service you wish the phone line to have. This is called the NCOS. Please refer to page A-3 in the 2004-2005 campus directory for Class of Service specifics.

If you have any questions, please call Chris at extension 1010.
