Busy Signal When Lift Handset
This occurrence is mostly with the 2500 single line desk phone. These are the phones that are a
basic square phone with just the dial pad.
The signal you are hearing is a stutter dial tone, commonly mistaken for a busy signal. This
signal is telling you that you have messages on your voice mail.
Simply dial into your voice mail at Extension 6060 and enter your password. You will then hear the
prompt that you have messages, and you may continue on.
If this is not the situation, please report the problem to Telephone Repairs at
Extension 2813.
