Farm Credit Services
Farm Credit Systems was established in 1917 by Congress. Presently, they have grown to be
the largest single provider of credit to American Agriculture. Farm Credit Services are part of Farm
Credit Systems with eleven locations in Montana. The Northwest Farm Credit Services consist of
five states; including Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. They have a total of forty-four
locations with the headquarters located in Spokane, WA. The members are the customers who buy
stock when they take out a loan. The bigger the loan the more stock they own. One member-one
vote is practiced. The Board of Directors consist of four members who each serve three year terms
and have quarterly meetings. Farm Credit Services is a specialized Agriculture lending company
which offers a wide range of products. They have competitive interest rates and structure loans to
meet their member's needs. In the future, they hope to increase the use of technology to improve
service and cut costs.
